The operator
terminals with Windows® CE Operating System offer the
ease of use typically found in terminals, but add the
performance level and openness expected on an industrial
PC.
They can be used with off-the-shelf SCADA applications
and with proprietary applications written by the user.
The CIB (Communications Interface Board), integrated in
certain models, provides powerful communications support
with its own processor, capable of handling all of the
ESA protocols and some field buses.
The CIB interfaces with the CE operating system via an
OPC server and can be used by most CE application
development software.
